Language

Language encompasses the ability to comprehend, produce, and communicate through speech or written symbols.
TARGET:
OVERVIEW

Language skills are vital for effective communication, learning, and social interaction. Impairments in language can result from neurological conditions like aphasia, dementia, or stroke, affecting both comprehension and expression. Assessing language abilities provides insights into the health of brain areas involved in speech and semantics.

MEASUREMENT

Boston Naming Test (BNT): Measures word retrieval ability by asking participants to name pictures of objects.

Controlled Oral Word Association Test (COWAT): Assesses verbal fluency through timed word-generation tasks.

ASSESSMENT
QUESTIONNAIRE
Questionnaire Scores
Although evidence suggests a correlation between questionnaire scores and neurological health, it does not prove causality or guarantee brain health. Always consult a qualified medical practitioner before making any decisions regarding your health or lifestyle.
